Grandma and Papa come to visit!

Mom and Dad came down for a visit last weekend and we had so much fun! One of Dad's old players owns a major radio station down here and said if he and my Mom were ever in the area to visit he would love to spoil them. Well, that he did! He put them up in a nice hotel with indoor and outdoor pools, golf for 2 at the Golf Course by the river (which we unfortunately didn't have time to use because of Peter's schedule), and a wonderful dinner at Crossroads Stake House. We had so much fun playing in Bend at Drake park, swimming at the pool, having picnics, shopping, we had a sleepover at the hotel, and we went to the Bite of Bend. By Sunday we were tuckered out, but got adventurous after church with a little trip to the fish hatchery and to see the head of the Metolious. That was spectacular, so beautiful and amazing that a river can bubble up from what seemed like nothing! Anyways, thanks Mom and Dad for making the trip down, we had a blast!

All they wanted to do was swim, swim, swim!
At the Fish Hatchery at Wizard Falls

I didn't get any good pictures of it but we found this bench right on the bank of the pond and there was this huge daddy fish that swam right up to us. Charley had some fish food left in her pocket and she kept plunkin' food to the fish, one bite at a time. It was hilarious to watch her do it over and over, she was enthralled! And it seemed like she had a bottomless pocket, that fish food just kept comin', and her little arm just kept throwin, it was hilarious! The closer she threw the food, the closer the fish got - it was not intimidated one bit!

At Drake Park there was this beautiful swan that the kids thought was so cool.
I thought this was so cute of my two girls hand-in-hand with Papa!
Aahhh, pool-side bliss!
Makenna got her face painted at the Bite of Bend.
To her it was SOOO worth the 30 minute wait! Not!

Papa helpin Charley swim, she just loved that!

Catchin' lunch at Carl's Jr., it was quite yummy!
Another cool shot at Drake Park after our picnic.

Unfortunately I had forgotten the camera when we went to the Bite of Bend and out to our really nice dinner, too bad - we missed some good shots! The kids got to jump and play in the big inflatable "rides" which was so fun. When we ate at Crossroads Stakehouse they started us off outside and it was beautiful dining right along-side the river. However a bit of a thunder storm started up so we moved inside. It was still a great time! Love you guys!

Birthday at the pond!

After the Rodeo Parade we headed over to the pond for lunch and Alix's birthday party. The kids had such fun and we tried not to shrivel in the heat!

This is Krissy not too many days before delivering their new baby girl!
Alix got a lot of new cooking items, she's really turned into
such a great little cook! These are plastic bowls baby - yes!
Robin getting the kids to follow a few simple instructions before
the chaos of cake and presents took over!
Makenna enjoying Robin and Greg's newest addition Jacen.

Rodeo Parade!

The weekend of Rodeo was so much fun! Robin and Greg's family came down to attend and to celebrate Alix's birthday. We went to the Rodeo on family night and it was fun to be there with lots of family! The highlight was the one armed bandit and his 3 amazingly majestic buffalo - unfortunately is was dusk and our pictures didn't turn out. They came right up to the fence where we were and I imagined what it would be like to see a whole herd of them out on the plains, wow! We spent Saturday morning at the rodeo parade and then the afternoon at the pond celebrating Alix's 10th birthday, it was a fun day! These pictures are from the parade.

Vaunell Temple was in the parade - showing off her cute rake
with the Sister's Garden Club. They were so fun!

Trying to find some relief from the heat with Grandpa behind the bushes.
All the kids were lovin' the firefighter's and their cool trucks.
Alix, Kenna, and Kate - the pink hat ladies!
The One-Armed Bandit! He got a buffalo to get up on top of this trailer at the Rodeo. YEEHA!

Service Project

For our Young Women's activity this week we got to do a service project for one of the elderly sisters in our branch - Sister Richins. Since Peter has Young Men's on the same night, I don't always get to be at our activities - but this was an OK one to bring the kids along. They had so much fun helpin and playin' and hangin' out with the girls - who are always so nice to 'em! It was a great night!

All the YW with Sister Richins

Charley was our good pine cone picker-upper!
It was kind of like an Easter egg hunt!
Makenna worked hard raking and picking up all the piles of needles.
They also had lots of fun with the wheel barrow!
Port was more interested in talking to the girls than doing yard work!

Morgan (also a fun babysitter) givin free rides! Whee!
