Down the Driveway

Since moving into to our house in crossroads we have REALLY enjoyed having our long driveway. As of yet we do not have a yard - front or back (grass will be going in soon :), so having somewhere else to play outside (besides in the dirt and on logs) has been a lifesaver! This last week has been pretty rainy - but they still wanted to play out on the driveway! I got comfy on a camping chair in the garage and watched them romp down the driveway in the rain - they loved it!

The girls got out of wet clothes and snuggled up in Kenna's robe. They're sure a pair!
Back out in the driveway for more!
It's always more fun when Dad's around!

We even broke out the old skateboard - lets just hope Peter doesn't start building one of his infamous ramps! Let's let the kids get a little older for that PLEASE!

1 Fish 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!

This week we went to the Fish Hatchery. Ever since Eric and Trish talked about going, Porter and Kenna haven't stopped talking about it! So Monday night we headed over to Wizard Falls and fed the fish. They have these circle tanks with "fingerlings" (baby trout) and the tanks, altogether, hold up to 2 1/2 million fish - wow! Once these fish are big enough they are then distributed to waterways all over!

Grease

On Friday night Redmond High School put on the musical production of Grease. Krissy, Kate, Makenna and I went (another one of our special "Girl's Night Out")- and costumes were encouraged, so the girls were excited to dress up in their poodle skirts. It was a really fun show, in spite of Sandy being a little bit of a let down. There were a few characters that stole the show (2 of the pink ladies - Rizzo and Frenchy) and the girls just ate it up! It was a fun night!

Right when we walked in some of the cast members were out in the hallway so we got to snap a few pictures with them. The actresses loved that the girls were dressed up and thought they were so cute! When Makenna spotted these ladies on stage she was tickled she'd gotten her picture taken with them!Do I see some future Sandys?
Sock hop anyone?

"Thank Heavens Grandma Loves Helping Hands!"

For Mother's Day we made our Grandmas aprons with the kids' handprints on them and a cute quote on the pocket. For Debbie: "Thank Heavens Grandma Loves Helping Hands" and for Lori: "Mini Hands Make Work Light" (play on words to one of her favorite sayings)! The kids loved making them and, after they were dry, figuring out which prints were theirs. Love you Mom!

Youth Temple Trip

This last Friday I was able to go with our youth to do baptisms for the dead in our Portland Temple. It was such a wonderful day - beautiful weather and a beautiful spirit that accompanied us. We were so fortunate to have our whole YW presidency in attendance and ALL of our young women, it was awesome. I'm so grateful to have opportunities like this that renews my spirit and reminds me of the peace and comfort of Heavenly Father's home - and our eternal home we can return to some day. Special shout out to Krissy for watching my kids - thanks again!

Cute Cut!

After many months of deliberating, Makenna finally decided to chop off her long locks! And boy does she love it! Right after it was cut she said, "I feel so free!" It was quite a bit of hair - about a foot, but she can't stop saying, "Isn't it cute Mom? Don't I look so cute?" I think so!

Before the chop her hair reached almost the bottom of her back. We cut off about a foot of hair!
After the chop it's about at her chin! No more tangles baby!
